Baxter’s Portrait
For all of you pet lovers, and especially you ‘Baxter’ lovers back in Elgin, I wanted to share the latest pose for ‘the boy’. I’ve given the picture a ‘painterly’ look, and may in fact even use it as one of my painted portrait examples in the future. I’ll certainly put him on the list, but I’ve got a few in front of him to do.
He is enjoying the snow up here, does not seem to be fazed by the cold (15 degrees this morning), and now sports a handsome red sweater any time he goes out. He has several new ‘friends’ - Wooly next door (the barker), Theresa and Friday on the other side. Then, just down the street at my mother-in-laws, he has Tasha and Precious. Up the street in the other direction though, there are five dogs that make haunting howls at night. We don’t walk down that way much!
One of my favorite pictures is one we had done just on the spur of the moment at a pet store with Baxter’s predecessor Gizmo. They had Deborah and I just step into the pose with him, and it turned out great! Pet Portraits are just a lot of fun to work on, whether it is my own, a friend, neighbor, or clients animal. Let’s face it - they never complain about how they look in the image!
ScarArt and a Portrait
A friend of mine, Angela Barrow has invented a product. Now this is a girl who is ALWAYS coming up with the latest, greatest, thing, and strange as it may seem, this one may actually have legs! Here’s the summary of the product and what it does:
“ScarArt is a specially designed temporary tattoo to fit horizontal tummy tuck and c-section scars. It is made with FDA REGULATED ADHESIVES AND COLORS. It is waterproof, smear proof and was designed to last 1-3 days. It can be applied and removed whenever you choose.”
Now, what does this have to do with photography? Well, Angela originally needed some pictures of a scar, some before and after shots of the application of her product, and then a short video tutorial on what it is and how to apply it (of course, this turned into 15 minutes of video, but that’s another story). So, in the middle of the session, we did some head shots for a Media Kit. I think the one shown (above) came out great and wanted to share it on my site, as well as the news about her product!
